Welcome to Drakensberg Cattery

We specialize in Himalayans (and CPC's). Himalayans in the colours Sealpoint, Bluepoint, Redpoint, Cremepoint and Tortie. At this moment we specialize in Lynxpoints. Drakensberg producers have various beautiful bloodlines behind them: Oakhaven, Whisperwood, Catley Crue, Catsafrats, Alina, Degentilly, Jolee, Purringwood, Larix, Brigantina and Polonez.

Let us acquaint you with this type of Persian cat. Breeders developed the Himalayan cat by cross-breeding the Siamese cat with the Persian cat. The points are identical to those of the Siamese cat, with the eye colour also being blue. They differ from a Siamese cat, however, in that they have long hair, a shorter nose and are less active.

The name of our cattery was derived from the large South African mountain chain, Drakensberg  (UNESCO World Heritage) where we lived for several years. Now we have settled in the heart of the Netherlands.

Occasionally we have kittens from PKD negative parents (DNA tested). We sell our kittens under contract. At such times  we seek responsible people to care for these beautiful babies. The cattery is under the veterinary supervision of the animal clinic  "Wilhelminapark” in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Drakensberg cattery is a member of Felikat which is affiliated with the FIFe. Our cattery is registered by the CFA and the FIFe . We hope to give you an impression of our small cattery by means of this website. You will see our beautyful and loveable cats as well as their indoor and outdoor living environments.
